Different people have worked in the research group in the past.
Currently there are only two persons:
The study of deviant behaviour began in 1975 in the Laboratory of Criminology, in 1985 the laboratory changed its name and existed as the Laboratory of the Sociology of Deviant Behaviour. Until 1993 when it was reduced into a research group.
The research project examines young people in Estonian special schools and detention centers in order to clarify the causes that lead to minors deviant behaviour. Proceeding from social causes, rehabilitation possibilities are sought for deviant minors (i.e. for those not yet in connection establishments) on the one hand, and ways for developing more effective methods of social work with minors in correction institutions and those released from such centers, as well as for their rehabilitation and socialization, on the other hand.
